      Interview

Took me out for coffee, super relaxed. They asked me about me and answered any questions I had for them. They talked about how much money they made which was strange, but they want to attract people who want to make money. I got an offer with no experience though.

      Sales Representative Interview

      6 Sept 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Hoover, AL
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at 45 Inc. (Hoover, AL)

      Interview

The interviewing process consists of three interviews. The first one you speak to the owner and someone shadowing him is usually in the room as well, they ask basic questions it was a very easy interview. The second interview they called me back and I went out with another worker and someone who was shadowing him, we went to a restaurant and he asked me the same questions as earlier - easy stuff. We went back to the building and I spoke to the owner again (assuming this was the third interview I was told I would have) and he said he would call me around 8pm to tell me if they were to hire me. Around 9:15 that night I got the call and was hired. Now keep in mind all I was told during these interviews was that I WILL make a base pay of $600.00 on a weekly basis and can make As much as $800.00 in a week within the first month, then it would greatly increase and these would be done by marketing. So great! But it seemed too good to be true but I had to try it out. I get to my first day they coached me bit on how to speak to costumers and inform them about the products. Then I get sent to the owners office to fill out papers and there he tells me and another new hire, your pay is commission only, if you don't sell you don't get paid, second you have to be designated to an entire neighborhood and walk DOOR TO DOOR from 11:00 - 8:00pm. Not once in the hiring process was any of this mentioned ever. And of course no benefits either until you reach a management position. I explained I had a bad hip and was looking for office work, yet they still hired me knowing this. I was irritated they didn't discuss these things with me during the interview process anytime I asked about it being commission pay or what type of customer service I'd be doing they jumped around the question and played it off and it definitely makes sense. If you don't mind walking from door to door for 8+ hours and want your pay to be based on commission this job is for you. But as an adult with bills and payments it's probably not the best. Not to mention who lets a female walk around a neighborhood all day by her self knocking on strangers doors? No thank you.

Reviewer, We wanted to reach out and apologize for your experience, as that is absolutely not the impression we look to give of our organization. Believe it or not, it is in our best interest to be as transparent as possible with interviews because hiring & training costs incurred are useless if an individual doesn't understand their primary job responsibilities. With this being said, we do recognize that there was a gap in communication and take full responsibility. As a part of our Management Training Program, we are actively teaching our team members the art of interviewing and with that comes constant room for improvement. We are glad that you had a perfect understand of what we did during orientation after speaking with our CEO, and that you two were able to conclude that this was not in fact the position you were looking for professionally. All in all, we wish you the best of luck, apologize for lost time, and hope you find the office based position you're looking for. Sincerely, 45 Inc Birmingham Management Team
