      Application

I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at A. Finkl & Sons (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2014

      Interview

They asked me a few questions on the phone and then invited me to an in person interview at the steel mill. The two guys who interviewed me were nice and approachable. The atmosphere of the company didn't sound very encouraging if you are looking for a place to have fun while working. It doesn't seem social and the office is very dreary. Constant humming from the mill. They also said the first 6 months are basically 60% IT and 40% coding.

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at A. Finkl & Sons (Chicago, IL) in June 2014

      Interview

It starts off with the Human Resources person. She's really nice, always helpful. After she gives you a little more information on the position, she'll move on to setting up an in person interview. The in person interview is with 3 members of the team, including the director, the software engineer, and the systems administrator. The interview focused on looking over your resume, and having you explain your experiences. They give you more information about the company, and how the day to day activities go. Their expectations, and how your position. Afterwards, they will either come up with a decision, or not. The entire process was relatively quick.

      Question 1

The majority of the questions were pretty basic, and focused on the hardware side of things. Also some questions regarding network issues. If you receive a specific error, how would you handle it? Or what conclusions can you draw from them?
