I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ACD Direct (Joplin, MO) in Sept 2024
Interview
The interview wasn't a traditional interview. You just register for an account via their online portal, fill out the info, do a video interview, and do an additional interview with a sample script. After several days or so, you'll find out if you were hired or not and if so, you must agree to pay for a background check conducted by an outside company before the next step.
Initially I was hired and the next step in the hiring process was enrollment in courses to answer calls for three nonprofits. Upon completing the courses, I would then be given the exam for my call center agent license and start taking calls. The exam is a series of test calls given by the exam team at ACD Direct. I spent over a week studying the history of the three nonprofits, watching videos of past seminars, their calling procedures, etc.
Unfortunately I automatically failed the exam due to having an unsupported headset. They do not make their list of supported headsets immediately available and mine was noise-reducing, not noise-cancelling. I made a wild goose chase across town just to find the Ethernet cable and USB to Ethernet adapter they require to work there. The headset had to be specially ordered online.
I have two other attempts at the exam before they rescind the offer of employment and permanently reject me from applying there again, but at this point in time I think I'll pass. I just don't have any more money or time to waste on this little endeavor....especially when the rewards may or may not be worth all the trouble I've gone to to reap them.

Interview
There isn't a traditional interview process; instead, you'll complete an online application. If accepted, you'll receive an onboarding email and self-paced training materials via email. Once you finish the training, you'll schedule a mock call. If successful, you can start taking inbound calls.
