I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at AMC Entertainment (Paramus, NJ) in June 2012
Interview
I applied online, and got a call about a week or so later. The interview consisted of a phone interview where they asked me a couple of questions about the dress code. They scheduled me for an interview the next day. I arrived dressed professionally with my resume. The interview was given by an associate under the supervision of a manager. All the questions they asked me were on this site. Have you ever been to a dirty restaurant? Have you ever had to wait in a long line? Have you ever had to work with someone you didn't know? What is something you are proud of? Then they gave me some info about the stubs card, asked me to familiarize myself with it, and then to sell it to them. I did rather well. They called me the next day. Just know how to answer the questions on this site and you'll do fine.

Process is fairly easy. If they're interested in your online application, they do a phone screening. If you do well on that one, they call you in to do an interview for the specific theater. Most of the questions are personality based. They do have you have you pitch AMC Stubs just to get a feel of how you'd present it to customers. Not sure why someone said people get hired on the spot as I never came across a crew member that got hired immediately, even if they were short staffed. Typically it takes a couple days before they give you a response.
