I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at AMC Entertainment (Chicago, IL) in Feb 2013
Interview
I applied online and was called back within three business days (applied on a Friday). The interview was very straightforward; the questions asked were customer-service based. Including the role-playing situation, I was asked four questions. The interview was roughly 40 minutes, mostly because the hiring manager asked for detailed responses.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The most nonstandard 'question' was being asked to sell a AMC Stubs card in role-play.

Interview
Process is fairly easy. If they're interested in your online application, they do a phone screening. If you do well on that one, they call you in to do an interview for the specific theater. Most of the questions are personality based. They do have you have you pitch AMC Stubs just to get a feel of how you'd present it to customers. Not sure why someone said people get hired on the spot as I never came across a crew member that got hired immediately, even if they were short staffed. Typically it takes a couple days before they give you a response.
