I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at AMD (Markham, ON) in June 2012
Interview
A large number of candidates brought in on same day for interviews. There was a group reception and briefing for the process, and it was well organized. Met for about an hour with each of half a dozen managers from different but related departments covering the product development and support process. Questions ranged from technical regarding statistical analysis of test data to more general regarding the development process and working as part of a team. Unfortunately, it did not appear that any of the positions were filled at this location.

I applied online. I interviewed at AMD (Austin, TX) in Mar 2021
Interview
Got a call from HR recruiter from AMD for a 20 minute phone screen. She asked me basic information of why go to go to a competitor, why do you want to relocate and what type of job are you looking for. She said that some of the managers will be in contact with me soon. That soon ended up being 2 weeks.
I did an hour phone interview and they asked me questions about my resume and said he will get back to me within a day to see if they would like to proceed forward. A couple of hours later, I got an email saying they would need my services sooner and I said that it would be a stretch, but can be negotiable if I get along with the team and manager. I did not hear back until a week later and did some follow up emails. I got a response back in a week saying that they hired a candidate and that he will forward my resume to other managers.
