I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at AMR in Apr 2015
Interview
I applied online and received an email 3-4 days later inviting me to schedule an appointment to test for my written exam which consisted of 150 scenario EMT questions. They were slightly easier than taking the NREMT. I took it in the middle of the station were I was able to hear almost every radio and tones go off. EMTS coming in and out and conversations that were happening loud, less than 3 feet away. Not sure if it was intentionally distracting, but I was very focused on passing.
After I took the test, I returned it to the supervisor. About 5 minutes later, he called me in his office and said it looked good and invited me to schedule an appointment for an official interview and scenario test where I would do a trauma/medical scenario.
(I dressed in professional attire the ENTIRE process, some people were not., but I DID)
A week later I returned, and went into the room where an EMT(interviewer) was waiting. He was so nice and calm and made me less nervous. We asked me a couple questions. Then he asked me 5 questions that were EMT/Medical related. I wasn't prepared and had trouble. Then we did a scenario.
After the scenario was over he returned the sheet to the supervisor and supervisor called me into his office and told me that I needed more refreshing on my assessment and book. Scheduled me appointment to try it again but 2 weeks later.
I came back 2 weeks later after studying my book and assessments religiously. I rocked all my questions elaborately and passed my scenario.( The scenarios are not hard at all, I just failed because I hit a critical fails) Afterwards the supervisor told me how much improvement I made and inviting me to go through the next process where I will be taking a physical agility test and drug screening. And they sent me a official offer letter where I accept the position.

Straight forward and streamlined, nice interviewers, skills assessment after interview to verify proper skills, pertinent questions to why you would or should get the job, overall a good experience and would recommend to others
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at AMR (Richland, WA) in Dec 2025
Interview
There was two people interviewing me taking turns asking questions. While I was responding they were typing out my responses for their boss to review and determine if I was eligible to hire.

Question 1
They asked me multiple behavioral questions and a few medical questions.
Easy interview, mostly checking for general competency. We covered a handful of job related questions, a couple of general "get to know you" questions, and then discussed when my start date could be. Overall pretty straightforward.
