I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at AND Digital (London, England) in June 2022
Interview
1st stage call with recrutier, 2nd stage technical interview of 1h that has some basic questions and an easy coding challenge, 3rd stage cultural fit with a people person that explains their values and asks you how you responate with them. Very quick process
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Smashed 1st and 2nd stage but then failed the cultural interview.
Failed the CULTURAL interview and therefore:
- I was too confident! (haha, can you imagine? My plan is too become a CTO one day so ofc I'm confident)
- I interrupted the person (so she took offence - this is a fair point)
- I asked questions from algoexpert.io - cultural part (questions that FAANG companies ask) and she deemed this questions as being extreme ones so that's why I failed the cultural interview. Can you imagine?

Interview
After my first interview, I was supposed to have a second one, but it never happened. The interviewer told me he would send an invitation, but I never received it. I sent a reminder, and he said he would reschedule, but nothing happened. If even getting an interview is this complicated, I can't imagine what it would be like to work there.

Question 1
My background and reasons for wanting to move to another company.

Interview
Approached via HackA Job. Friendly chat with Internal Recruiter followed by remote interview with Technical Developers to discuss background/knowledge etc. And then nothing and no reply to emails. No updates on HackAJob. Just ignored.

Interview
Was headhunted on hired. Got an initial call with the hiring guy who told me about the interview process, which was the initial call we had, then a technical interview with a pair programming aspect then a culture fit.
Had the initial call where we spoke about my experience and what I was looking for next
Then the technical interview with Q&A for the first half and then pair programming
After this round I was told that I did well on the pair programming part but that my Q&A wasn't strong enough and thus they would have to reduced the salary offer which was weird to me seeing as a coder we don't do Q&A all do we code but I said alright and they put me into the next round which was the cultural fit.
The cultural fit was fine and I answered all the questions that were asked and seemed to get positive feedback but somehow was told I didn't get the job later on because they offered it someone who has more experience with the types of projects they usually work on.
If this is the case then why didn't they tell me this before I got all the way through to the cultural interview? They probably filled the role internally and just wanted to waste someone's time just to show the government that they posted the role externally.
