Interview
Interview with recruiter (30 minute phone)
Interview with VP of Sales (30 minute phone)
Interview with member of sales team (30 minute phone)
Interview with Board member (1-hour phone)
Interview with CEO (1-hour over Zoom)
Should have become apparent what I was walking in to. During interviews with the VP of Sales, board member and sales team member, it was communicated to me that the majority of the previous regime was not only recently fired, but the CEO was very new to the SaaS model and was not knowledgeable of how to build and scale this type of organization. Truer words were never spoken. It soon became apparent that this organization is a dumpster fire.
During my time there, we started to grow my team, and as we were working to schedule interviews, the recruiter suggested we bring back former employees who were previously terminated from the team "...because there will not be a learning curve."
ARC makes head-scratching and knee-jerk decisions at every turn without thinking about the consequences.
Avoid unless you are in the most dire situation, and circumstances deem it absolutely and unequivocally necessary to accept a role with this train-wreck of an organization.
they lied about product and the sales incentive was not attainable. the position was not represented accurately and truthfully. Their salary and incentive comp are not competitive. position and incentive expectations were overstated.
I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ARC Document Solutions (Philadelphia, PA) in Feb 2013
Interview
One on one with the Regional VP of Sales. He reviewed my experience and how I would manage a team. Asked me about strengths and weaknesses. How proficient I am with technology. He talked about the future plans of the company and where it was headed. Told me I had to build my sales team and start fresh.
