I completed three virtual interviews within a one-week period. The first interview was with the hiring manager and members of the team. During the process, I learned that the hiring manager had been promoted and was transitioning to a different role within the company. The second interview was with HR, and the final interview was with the Director of Transportation Operations.
Overall, the interview experience itself was positive, and all interviewers were professional and engaged. However, after completing the final interview, I never received any follow-up regarding the status of my candidacy. I sent multiple emails to HR requesting an update and received no response. I also reached out directly to the Director of Transportation Operations and did not receive a reply.
After investing significant time preparing for and participating in three interviews, the complete lack of communication was extremely disappointing and frustrating. While I understand that hiring priorities and staffing needs can change, candidates deserve the courtesy of a status update or closure after completing multiple rounds of interviews.
Based on my experience, applicants should be aware that communication may cease without notice, even after reaching the final stages of the interview process.
The company would greatly improve the candidate experience by providing timely updates and respecting the time and effort candidates invest throughout the hiring process.
