I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at ASML (Eindhoven) in July 2024
Interview
I interviewed at ASML for a Python DevOps Engineer position in the MX Systems Hub. The first round was mostly conversational, covering my background and career. I was quickly moved to the second stage within two days, which was a technical round. The task was to implement a Rock-Paper-Scissors game with a few additional requirements. I thought my explanations and approach were clear, but I wasn’t forwarded to the next stage. This wasn’t a huge problem, as companies can choose to move forward with other candidates for various reasons.
However, the issue was waiting for feedback for a month, only to receive a negative response. My main concern is the lack of communication. When I inquired about the feedback after two weeks, they asked me to wait a little longer, which ended up taking an additional two weeks. This is quite problematic because the longer you wait, the more hopeful you become, and then suddenly, all those hopes are shattered.
I don’t usually write feedback on my interviews online, but this is for anyone applying: do so with low expectations. If you don’t hold a master’s degree, don’t have 10 years of experience, or are not a Dutch citizen, your chances of securing a job at ASML might be slim, no matter how good the opportunities seem. Miracles don’t happen often. I'm writing this so you know what to expect and can prepare accordingly.
