I was asked to share about the technical projects which I have embarked on in school. In top of them, I was asked in detail the contributions I made in each project as well as difficulties I have faced in the interview. Overall it was a pleasant experience

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ASMPT SMT Solutions (Munich, Bavaria) in Dec 2024
Interview
Absolutely unprofessional HR
Pros:
The interview process with the team lead was pleasant and professional.
No unnecessary technical grilling; instead, it focused on my background, experience, and overall philosophy about C++ and software engineering.
The process consisted of two steps: an online interview followed by an onsite meeting, both of which were engaging and insightful.
Cons:
The HR department’s handling of the process was disappointing and unprofessional.
After the team lead offered me the position and we agreed on all terms (including start date and pay), I accepted and received confirmation that I would begin soon.
Two weeks later, I received a generic rejection email stating that the position was no longer available due to economic reasons—without any apology, explanation, or offer of compensation.
By that time, I had already rejected another offer based on their confirmation, leaving me to restart my job search from scratch. This caused me to lose approximately two months of valuable time and potential income.
While the team lead created a positive and professional impression, the overall experience with HR left me feeling undervalued and disrespected. Such behavior is not just unprofessional but could also be considered a breach of ethical and legal standards.
I would not recommend engaging with ASMPT unless you’re prepared to face a lack of accountability from their HR team. Unfortunately, the positive aspects of the interview process were entirely overshadowed by this experience.
