I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Abbott (Alameda, CA) in May 2018
Interview
Phone screened by HR, phone interview by hiring manager, followed by in-person on site interviews with colleagues & director of hiring manager. In my case, the hiring manager suddenly had jury duty on the day of my interview. The recruiter told me to go ahead and attend the interview anyway. When I arrived at Abbott, I checked in at the reception desk. Phone conversation that the receptionist was having at the time, "I don't understand why they flew in all of these candidates and then don't show up to interview them...". I'm a local candidate, though. Surely they aren't talking about me. I am escorted to an interview room by an Admin Asst for the group that I'm interviewing with. She leaves me there, then returns a few minutes later. The person who is scheduled to interview me is not available for another half an hour. OK, I say - no problem. I'll wait. After half an hour though, I decide to text the recruiter, letting her know that I'd be happy to come back at a later time; when it's more convenient. She expressed surprise, and within minutes the person who was scheduled to interview me arrived. The interview and the ones that followed were brief. I was unimpressed. They didn't ask any challenging questions. The funniest question is the one listed below.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Question: "I noticed the word MarCom throughout your resume'. That word is actually in my title and I've never known what it means. What does it mean?"
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Abbott (Kuala Lumpur) in Sept 2024
Interview
Hirer didnt really respect the process. Distracted with other things and asking questions that are irrelevant. Overall, not a good experience and I would recommend to be careful with the interviewer.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Abbott
Interview
Spent an entire day interviewing - met with 6 to 8 different people. There were numerous openings, so they wanted me to interview with everyone hiring for the open roles to see where I might be a good fit.
1 step - interview with HR, 2 step - interview with manager, 3 - business case, 4 - interview with BU Director. The process was clear and fast. The case included analysis of marketing data.
