I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Abercrombie & Fitch
Interview
I interview to be a Manager in Training for ANF without any prior management or retail experience. You must have a college degree though and since the company is ridiculously shallow, you need to be attractive (level of attractiveness depends on how desperate they are for managers). Managers are always interviewed by the District Manager, and it's usually a very casual interview. You should definitely dress casually, preferably something from ANF. BE CONFIDENT. The company is very big on confidence, you need to be outgoing and energetic. The DM will ask you questions that he or she reads off of an interview guide, generally things that have to do with how you would handle a certain situation. The questions are very easy and you can BS most of them. A lot of the questions are in the format "Give me a specific example of when you.......And how did you handle it" or something like that. Make sure you are giving specific examples!!!! For instance, "There was ONE time in school when I had to".... or "At my last job we had a customer who......" Don't be vague. I'll give some examples of questions below, just so you can get an idea. Once the interview is over, there is a background check that can take up to 2 weeks. If you don't hear from them by two weeks, don't freak out, sometimes they forget to get back to you right away or go on vacation and don't let you know, so just be patient. DO NOT CALL THEM. They will call you if you get the job. If you don't hear within 3-4 weeks just assume you didn't get the job.
