I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Abnormal AI in Jan 2024
Interview
After participating in what I believed to be a successful series of interviews totaling five hours, my experience with Abnormal Security's hiring process ultimately left me deeply disappointed and questioning the company's professionalism.
Despite progressing through a rigorous 6-7 step interview process, involving multiple in-depth discussions with both HR and Technical teams, each ranging from 60-90 minutes, my application was rejected without any clear explanation. This lack of transparency became evident when I discovered the position was relisted on LinkedIn shortly thereafter.
The company's decision to engage in such an extensive interview process, especially considering its history of recent layoffs, raises serious concerns about their genuine intent to hire and respect for candidates' time and effort. The impression that the company revels in an over-extended, seemingly purposeless interview process is difficult to shake off. This is further exacerbated by the receipt of a generic rejection email, lacking any personal touch or specific feedback, which I find to be a glaring omission in basic professional courtesy.
This experience has regrettably led me to conclude that Abnormal Security may have a disregard for meaningful human interaction and a professional approach in their recruitment practices. For a company of its standing, this approach seems particularly out of step and reflects poorly on its overall ethos.
I share this feedback in the hope that it might prompt a reevaluation of Abnormal Security's recruitment strategies and their approach to candidate engagement.
