I applied online and received a phone call from HR shortly after. The call covered standard introductions an overview of what Above Lending does and an explanation of their interview process. The next step was an interview with a Senior Director of Engineering. This conversation was more focused on their tech stack and what they were looking for in a candidate. I felt it went well though I wished we had more time since it was limited to just one hour.
HR mentioned that the hiring process would slow down due to the holidays so I decided to pause other interviews because I was very interested in joining Above Lending especially since it’s a FinTech company. However after three weeks I was informed they had chosen another candidate. I understand the market is tough right now but I wish they hadn't suggested the process would slow down it left me waiting unnecessarily for three weeks. Thankfully I didn’t reject my other oppportunities!
TL;DR: It’s best not to rely too heavily on Above Lending they might pivot unexpectedly.
