I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Academy Sports + Outdoors in Jan 2015
Interview
I applied online, around 3 days later I got a phone call, which was a "Phone interview". 9 Dollars was mentioned as the wage per hour. Face to face interview scheduled in a few days because it was Saturday. The store is still in the process of being built so it was at a couple of empty trailers outside with people running back and forth the entire time like helpless chickens after getting their heads cut off.
The interview was decent, they record it(voice) and the interviewer went off a sheet of paper and read a question for each section, 8 in total. Afterwards they scheduled another interview so you could meet the store director. More of a get to know you rather than an interview. You signed a paper agreeing to that if you pass a background check you will be hired. They offered 8.25 at that point when I was offered 9 before, They said the lead is barely making 9...but that isn't my problem, you shouldn't offer something then change it. agreed somewhere in-between.
After about 3 days of waiting for the background check to go through I got a call for going back to do something on the computers for 45 minutes and to get hired.
Overall the process was alright, although it felt entirely too long, they were hiring EVERYONE and interviewing EVERYONE at the same time it seemed so its to be expected. (new store, mass hiring)

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Academy Sports + Outdoors (Manhattan, KS) in Apr 2017
Interview
I applied on line last Wednesday, got called on Thursday morning asking if I had time to answer a few questions. Scheduled a interview on Monday, meet for a panel interview with two Logistics Managers and the Receiving Manager. Very simple questions, the interview lasted 30 minutes and went well. It's only been one day since the interview, praying that my experience as a Material Handler qualifies me for the position I applied for or possibly able to work in another department. Was told that they would contact me by the end of the week if I was getting the position, patiently waiting for the call.

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Academy Sports + Outdoors (Lake Jackson, TX) in Aug 2016
Interview
The interview process was done by two seperate people in two parts, but it was pretty straight forward and simple. The first interviewer was a Senior Team Lead who was laid back and easy going, and the 2nd interviewer, who was a Manager was a little more serious and professional.
