I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at AccessAbilities (Crown Point, IN) in June 2019
Interview
If your application is chosen , you will complete a phone interview that lasts around 10 minutes. If you are chosen for the next round, then you will complete a Google Duo interview which lasts around 20 minutes. They will give you a link to watch a couple of YouTube videos regarding ABA therapy before the Google Duo interview.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at AccessAbilities (Merrillville, IN) in Mar 2018
Interview
The initial interview lasted an hour long with the CEO. I then got scheduled for a second interview a week later to meet the HR rep, the position was offered couple days later through email. It consisted of an attachment with the job description, pay, etc and I had to sign it for an official acceptance in the position. I met for a pay negotiation but the CEO didn't budge at all. I still signed and accepted the position. The next day the CEO brought up a different position, an ABA/HR hybrid position, that I may be interested in based on my background. I told her I was open to learning more about the hybrid position. A supervisor from that department was supposed to contact me explaining the responsibilities of this other position but we could never reach each other via phone (we were basically playing phone tag for over a week). I explained the communication issue to the HR representative and CEO because they told me to let them know if I had difficulty reaching her. The CEO then emailed me asking for an official start date so I told her I could start Monday and the HR representative sent me an email of the on-boarding process for the ABA/HR hybrid position that I did not get information about. Confused, I called the HR representative explaining I did not accept that position because I have yet to learn the responsibilities of the ABA/HR hybrid position the CEO mentioned to me. The CEO then decided to rescind the offer of employment for the personnel specialist position initially offered because "I was taking too long to make a decision and I had tried to negotiate pay". However, during the interview, the CEO asked me when I could start and that she didn't want bad blood from the company I was leaving so if i needed time to put in my two weeks she was fine with that. Clearly lied about wanting me to start ASAP because "I took too long to make a decision". She also didn't budge with my pay negotiation and made promises of giving potential bonuses or raises at my 90 day and even promised paying for any certifications/training I may want. However, looking at the reviews from former employees makes me think she lied about that too. I don't know why she was mad about me negotiating pay because I end up accepting the salary she initially offered. I believe I dodged a bullet with this company. I don't recommend applying here. The CEO seems stubborn and manipulative just as the reviews say.
