I applied online. I interviewed at Acorns (Irvine, CA) in Dec 2020
Interview
I had a great recruiting & interviewing process . It felt very personalized and not like I was just a number.
I had a few conversations with the recruiter and hiring manager, followed by a panel. They were kind enough to spread the interviews over multiple days and accommodate my hectic schedule (they would typically do it all in 1 day). After the panel, I spoke with the CTO, and later with the CEO.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
A few team / leadership style interviews and 2 system design interviews
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Acorns (New York, NY) in July 2018
Interview
30 minute phone screen with the hiring manager.
In person interview with 3 people that was pretty straight forward
I then get a call from the recruiter at 1:30 in the morning saying they want me to meet the ceo that day. When i said I was unable to do that on that short notice, they set me up on a phone call with the CEO.
The CEO asked me if i had met anyone already and what am i interviewing for? he basically had no idea why he was on the phone with me or what position I was interviewing for.
They then tried to string me along and just never gave any feedback or answers.
I'm a pro and they came off as amateur hour.
