I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Actionstep Software (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2026
Interview
I went through the hiring process with Actionstep and the experience was extremely frustrating and unprofessional.
After multiple interview stages, I was asked to complete an unpaid case study that required a significant amount of time and effort. I delivered it on time, and then… nothing. Weeks of silence followed. I sent multiple follow-ups and received either vague responses or no response at all. There was no clear timeline, no accountability, and ultimately no respect for the time I invested.
If a company is going to ask candidates to complete substantial unpaid work, the bare minimum should be timely communication and a clear decision. Ignoring candidates after they’ve delivered free work is not just disorganized—it’s disrespectful.
This process felt one-sided and poorly managed from start to finish. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others about investing their time here unless the company improves how it treats candidates.
First screencall had multiple employees on the call with no structure. Everyone asked a random question. They let me know I would be receiving a "personality test" as the next steps. But no one has reached out or responded to my follow ups. Lousy communication for a low paying job.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Actionstep Software
Interview
Received an invite for an initial screening from the SVP of customers. The call was cancelled 5 minutes before the interview was scheduled to begin. I attempted to reschedule the interview 3 times afterwards and never received a response.
