I applied online. I interviewed at Actuary & Medical Recruiting
Interview
They called me and asked me some questions about my resume. Then they said that I'll have to pass Exam P (the first actuary exam), and once I pass Exam P, they'll give me a job paying $54-70k depending on how I score. They said I had to sign up for their $380 course for Exam P in order to have this opportunity, so I did. The course ends in May when I take the exam. They didn't ask me a lot of questions, but instead the interview was mostly them explaining how the recruiting process works.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Actuary & Medical Recruiting in Feb 2020
Interview
Spoke on the phone with a woman and a man, both with thick Southern accents. The program and salary were both described- you'd study with other students for several weeks, and after passing Exam P, the agency would try to find you a job with an actuarial firm, with pay scaled based on your exam score. However, and this issue was danced around for as long as they could, they expected you to pay upwards of $400 to enroll in their class while you were still on the phone with them. The interviewer showed me a list of ~50 students enrolled in the class already, and made sure to tell me about strong other candidates this was being offered to, trying to get me to send them the money right then and there. This was where I drew the line- things felt far too fishy, I did not send the money within the day that they asked, and that was the last I heard from them.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There was a fairly simple math test as part of their demo for the online class, intended to serve as a benchmark for what the class might consist of.

Interview
This is not a recruiter. This is not a potential employer. This entire operation is a single person out of a home office in Mt Joliet, Tennessee who will prey on college students. He will offer a seminar to prepare students for Exam P, taught by someone who likely had no experience as an actuary or tutoring this course. Save your money, go to one of the online seminars that are more useful and effective in preparation.
I have reported this business to BBB and he is forbidden from advertising on multiple campuses. In my ten years in the industry, I have never heard of any candidate places by him, or his agency.
