Acuity Inc. Security Engineer interview questions

The interview was highly technical and aligned closely with the responsibilities of the role. The majority of the discussion focused on architecture design, security controls, and real-world implementation scenarios rather than behavioral questions. I was asked to walk through end-to-end system designs, explain trade-offs between different technologies, and justify security decisions at a detailed level. The interviewers explored areas such as authentication flows, token handling, threat modeling, cloud security controls, and mitigation strategies for common vulnerabilities. There were scenario-based questions that required breaking down complex problems methodically, identifying risks, and proposing practical solutions. The depth of questioning indicated they were evaluating hands-on expertise and the ability to reason through complex technical challenges under pressure.
