I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Addepar (Salt Lake City, UT) in Sept 2016
Interview
I applied online through the company's website, a person from the company contacted me 2 days after I submitted my application. Via email we set up a time to have a phone call and go over my resume and experience, the call took place over a week after the initial contact. An additional and second 30 min interview over the phone took place not very long after. Having successfully passed the first 2 screening phone calls I was invited to the SLC office.
The interview at the SLC office was scheduled to last 5 hours including lunch and the opportunity to interview with most of the employees currently working there as well as a product demo.
Although I like the idea of being interviewed several times by different, 5 interviews in one day one after the other at times it seemed a little excessive.
During the interview many of the questions asked by one person were then asked again by the following person and so on, it gave me the impression that not much preparation went into the interviews or that little coordination took place between interviewers.
Had a riddle that was pretty difficult and product simulation where they showed you the product and asked questions on what you would report on and what chart you would add, asked financial questions like what you would invest in a portfolio

Interview
I applied online and received an email within a day to set up an initial phone screen. After that I had another call with a member of the team and was then invited to an on-site interview. The interview lasted about five hours, including lunch and a product demo. I was able to speak with most of the members on the team and was interviewed on technical skills, finance knowledge, as well as behavioral based questions. As a start-up, there was a lot of interaction with other team members to most likely assess fit with the culture. Shortly afterwards, I was informed of their decision.
