Recruiter reached out to me about 3 months following my application. I had an initial screening call and was supposed to get an update 2-3 weeks later. No response came so I've reached out after about a month. The recruiter apologized saying that the hiring manager has just returned from vacation and that they will share an update shortly. Another couple of weeks have passed and no update so I reached out again and there was no response at all. That was about 1.5 months ago.
It's more than worrying to see such poor recruitment process in a company that provides workforce solution services.
As the recruitment process was for a recruitment & onboarding process owner, I'd like to say that I really think you desperately need an owner for this process. And hopefully this person will help you optimize your process, be that by reviewing and adjusting your recruiters' workload and capacity, reviewing your internal alignment or by helping you implement automated solutions to keep candidates informed in case of process delays. Best of luck with your recruitment process for this role because you really need a person there.
