I applied online. I interviewed at Adventure Scientists (Bozeman, MT)
Interview
I was recently asked about a position for this company that is currently active by a friend of mine who understands my passion for conservation and it touched a nerve because I wrote off my own experience. After sharing what I learned with him, it felt necessary to do the same here.
A year or so maybe? I looked into a future position here since my background in molecular biology could be an incredible asset to this team. I mean what they are doing for the planet here is extraordinary! and because of that, I've been following them for a few years and noticed the frequent change in staff there (If you've followed this company you may have noticed the same). After a bit of digging and reaching out to some pretty influential and highly respected friends in this industry - familiar with the company - I would caution anyone looking for a position here. There is an ungodly amount of turnover which is never a good sign. While I admire what they do for the planet as a whole, this is a sign of a much larger problem. I pulled my application after learning more and observing this. Look elsewhere.

Question 1
I'm confident, that questions would have been asked about my background under the position posted had I gone through with applying here.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Adventure Scientists in May 2024
Interview
Two interviews and a take home test. The take home test was split intwo two main components — developing a strategy/approach to pipeline managament that you’d aim to implement in the first 6 months and a sample outreach email to a potential partner.

Interview
Compared to the other interviews here, I did not experience any ghosting and communication was great. It seems like they are short staffed. Interview process went really well. I actually had a lot of follow up during the process. Many of the questions I had about the culture, the job description and actual duties were answered by the team. I declined the offer given to me because the first round of interviewing and follow up was great, the final round interview with the Executive Director was not great. They seem to be on two different pages from what the team was looking for in the position and what he was looking for in the position. Salary offered was low for the area and my experience. This is a young team. I have no doubt they will go far.

I received questions about my background, experience, and how I would leverage that for the position I applied for. I believe each position may have different questions, so I am not posting mine here.
