      Application

I interviewed at Adyen in July 2025

      Interview

After 3 rounds, including a take-home assessment, was informed by the Adyen recruiter that feedback was extremely positive and they would let me know by next week what the next round looks like. 2 weeks pass, and I send a follow-up, stressing that I was not in a hurry. Adyen recruiter replies and says they are still trying to get the schedule for the next interviewer. Great communication and prompt responses, these things happen. Another 2 weeks pass and I ask for a quick update. I get another very prompt response from the Adyen recruiter informing me that there has been some internal changes in the company and as a result also some budget changes needed to be approved, but assured me there would be no impact to the hiring and they would let me know as soon as everything is approved. Again, great communication, and as someone who has been on the hiring side before, I understand the internal challenges when it comes to hiring, so this is completely understandable. A month passes and I email to ask if there has been any changes. No reply. Another month passes and I see the role re-advertised on LinkedIn. Message the Adyen recruiter to see what's going on. No reply. I can overlook a lot of things when it comes to recruitment, it's sometimes long and tedious, and it's never an easy and straightforward ask. I can even overlook the mistake where the Adyen recruiter informs me (last minute and only when prompted) that an online interview is changing to an in person interview at their premises, only for the interviewer to be working from home that day (Staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating, set up the Zoom and everything in one of the conference rooms). These things happen, no drama. What I can't overlook is not having the basic professional courtesy of informing an applicant they are no longer under consideration (not even a generic email) or that due to internal changes the expectations aren't aligned anymore. Both of those are understandable. What's not understandable is ghosting someone as though they were a small local business, and not a publicly traded multinational. (This is not to say that ghosting at any level is ok at all). Probably an isolated experience, but leaving this review for the record.

      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Adyen (Amsterdam) in Jan 2019

      Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Adyen (Amsterdam) in Mar 2016

      Interview

Few days after the online application, HR arranged a meeting time by email. Then, a one-to-one interview, by Skype, with the manager took around 30-40 mins. Two weeks later, I was informed that they had decided to move ahead with someone else. Overall, the process is quick and the staffs all are nice.
