I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Adyen (Bergen op Zoom) in June 2022
Interview
-I was reached out to by a recruiter via LinkedIn.
-Recruiter and I had a 30 min call to discuss role and interview process.
-First round interview was 30 minutes with a current AM- was only left with <5 min for questions at the end so I wasn’t able to get a good feel for company culture, expectations of the role, etc.
-Was immediately sent an email with a case study and directions to create a 30 min presentation to present in the next round.
-Spent 4+ hours reviewing data that was sent over, on Adyen website and building slide deck.
-Presented slides to 2 x AM Team Leads. Was asked questions during presentation as if I was a seasoned AM (was asked how the case study company numbers compare to other clients’ numbers, specific nuances of the Adyen offering, etc.
-Was sent a stock rejection email with no personalization nor feedback. Request for feedback was ignored.
-Takeaway: even for an Associate AM role, they are looking for someone with expert level knowledge of the FinTech industry and of their product offering (without any training or onboarding provided)

Question 1
What is the difference between gateway and acquirer?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Adyen (San Francisco, CA) in May 2022
Interview
There should be a total of 4 rounds of interview plus a presentation on case study. I would say the case study is pretty difficult for people who aren't in the payment industry. It took me sometime to understand. It is also a test on how you analyze and present data. I really like everyone I spoke to during the interview process. It is probably my best interview experience so far. Even I didn't make it to the final round, the recruiter still made time to provide me feedback on the phone.
