I applied online. I interviewed at Affirm in Mar 2023
Interview
1. First call (30 min) was the screening with the recruiter. She was very nice, asked generic HR questions, provided information about the company, work setting, talked about the interview process. 2. Second call (1 hr) was with the Hiring Manager. He was very positive, we talked about Product, he asked some behavioral questions, talked about the team and gave some hints about how to prepare for the next round. 3. Third was a Challenge interview (2 hr). It consisted of 2 parts: Execution and 0-1. Affirms sends you a manual how to prepare for this stage. Execution task was given by another PM. The question was: If you were a CPO at AirBnB what would be your North Star metrics and why? 0-1 challenge was given by a GPM of a different domain. The question was if Amazon would like to start business in your Country what should it do? The interviewers were really patient during the interview and general impression was very nice. 4. Then I was invited to a mini-onsite interview (2:30 hr) with 4 different people from the Company (Engineering Managers and PMs). HR set-up a call with me first to walk me through the process and what kind of questions I would be expected to cover with each of the interviewer. All of them were really professional and nice. One of the interviews was with the Hiring Manager again and he gave me a detailed feedback on the Challenge interview stage which I really appreciate. I took lots of notes. After this stage I received a mail from the recruiter that the position was filled and that they're looking for a position in another team for me. I guess they didn't find any :) Generally, the recruitment process was very straightforward and very well organized. I received a feedback about the previous stage within 3-4 working days. Overall impression of the process and the Company was really nice.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why did you apply to this position? Why should we hire you? Tell me 3 positive and 3 negative things about you. Tell me about the product you're most proud of. Are you comfortable working in an Agile setting? If you were a CPO for Airbnb, what would be your North Star Metrics and why? If Metric X decreased by 5%, what would you do? Imagine you’re working for Amazon and you would like to enter the Market in your Country. How would you approach this? Tell me about a situation when you weren't able to meet the deadline / the goal. How do you prioritize? How do you manage conflicts with Stakeholders? What are your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
I just finished the 30 min HM interview - all behavioral. I was asked to describe one project in details and was asked several follow-up questions to discuss deeper. overall good experience.
I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Affirm (Michigan City, MS) in July 2024
Interview
One call with an internal recruiter where I was asked to go over each experience in my resume one at a time.
I had applied over 5 months before I got this interview invite but the person I spoke with did not seem to know the exact role I had applied for.
The call also seemed like a routine call just to cover the basics and I was told that the notes would be passed to the hiring team.
Straight forward interview with the process being laid out for you by the recruiter in the first call. Very thorough. Talk through your relevant experience and any pertinent questions. Not much more to say.
