I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Air-Weigh in Jan 2026
Interview
The process includes HR screening, followed by interviews with the CEO and hiring manager, then a technical interview of medium to high difficulty, concluding with a final evaluation and offer decision.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Air-Weigh (Eugene, OR) in Dec 2019
Interview
Got to meet the whole team. First interview was with team lead and senior dev, during the interview I got to meet the rest of the team. Second was a Code challenge. I was asked to code in a language I had previously stated minimal experience in, so I prepared for it the best I can, when I got into the room they said I could choose any language I wanted, Dropped communication between software team and HR.
Final interview was with the company owner, Very friendly and positive man.
After the final interview I heard nothing from AirWeigh for 4 weeks. I reached out to there HR department, and they said they would get back to me in a week. Never heard back. Did my part, I reached out again 2 weeks later, was told that decision hadn't been made yet, but they would be in touch. Haven't heard back since.
AirWeigh's lack of communication and commitment to their people was apparent during the interview process, and after meeting the team members. As a potential new team member I felt of no value to to the company. I got alot of bad feedback from team about the company as a whole, and to gain more information and insight about other teams at AirWeigh I requested to speak with another teams lead. That request was denied as it was too far out of their "standard hiring process". There are major culture issues at Air Weight, but has the ability to be a great workplace, if they were to apply themselves.

Interview
Had an email response, then a couple of calls with HR. the President runs the show, but no phone interview with him. Got through phone interview, stated my salary minimum, then fly there to find out they can't meet that. Ok. Met with a PM (non technical, but knows the company and market well). Met with an EE that seemed solid. The office area ease very disorganized/ messy. BUT, the lean mfg area is solid (good mfg leadership, but got the impression his personality was bout for everyone... but lean mfg can make enemies of the inexperienced).
Finally met the President and then lunch with him. Strangely hiererachal, but he's a nice mellow guy.
I got an offer, and tried to negotiate, but they wouldn't budge, even though I have lots of relevant experience. Had to bail out of the offer, as the 100k max is a huge cut and Eugene isn't that much cheaper for living.
