A recruiter reached out to me initially and was very friendly and supportive, speaking positively about the company. I was actually quite impressed by Aircall at first, especially since the public reviews, including those from employees, are relatively low.
I then proceeded to an interview with the hiring manager.
If I had to summarize that interview in one word, it would be: *humiliating*.
The hiring manager presented a very different picture of the role compared to what the recruiter had described. From the moment the interview started, I already had the impression I would not progress further. The questions felt unusual and, at times, dismissive. The role was also downplayed significantly, including negative comments inside their own team.
Each time I provided a correct technical answer, the interviewer seemed visibly disengaged, which made the entire conversation uncomfortable from beginning to end.
The only communication I received was a rejection email, which was not surprising given the interviewer’s reactions. I felt quite discouraged and tried to reach out to the recruiter, but received no response.
Looking at employee reviews, I can now understand some of the concerns raised about the company culture compared to similar organizations, and this experience seems to reflect some of those patterns.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Aircall (Paris) in Jan 2026
Interview
Hr hiring 1st round for 30 mins or 1 hr ,
then one technical round , for senior position a system design round and 2 more rounds depending on the position for which you are applying .
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Aircall (Madrid) in Feb 2026
Interview
Hiring Manager Round and System Design Round was good!
But the coding round was super dissappointing. I was asking clarification questions and the interviewer stopped me to not think about anything and just code the solution and match the output. He was super focused on my code's compilation rather than how my thinking process was. Looks like they want to hire someone who can code blindly without any thinking.
Also, the recruiter told me that the coding round won't be a leetcode style question, rather a real life problem and I even can use AI if I want. Even though he was nice in person, this tells that he is super incompetent at his job!
