I was approached by the Air table recruiter, as my profile was referred. Prior to the interview I was provided with a large presentation to read through, so I invested more time than usually would for a 1st round interview. I completed the initial screening call with HR, which went well and was told I would hear back on Monday - as the interview was on Friday. Despite a solid conversation, clear alignment with the role, and follow-ups, I never received any further communication, not even a courtesy rejection. I even sent a follow up email to which there was no response, it’s understandable not every candidate moves forward, but when someone comes in through trusted referrals and makes the time for an interview, basic follow-up is common courtesy. Ghosting at this early stage reflects poorly on the process and creates friction for future referrals.
