      Zookeeper Interview

      12 Feb 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Alameda Park Zoo in Feb 2015

      Interview

HR department called to confirm that I was still interested in the position and to let me know that she would call early the next week to set up an phone interview time with a panel of 3 people. It was almost 2 week process to have the actual interview. The HR woman, Tina, called to let me know she would call back in 10 minutes to transfer me to the panel for my interview. The interview took about 25 minutes and I was put on speaker phone. Consisted of about 20 questions that they score you on based on your answer. The highest scored interview will receive the first offer. They were all very nice but I didn't think it was a very personable interview. Just because someone scores higher on answering questions doesn't mean they are more fit for the position. I asked how long the decision will take and they said they would let everyone know either way within a week since the position needs filled right away. I applied on governmentjobs.com, was contacted about 2 weeks after, and an interview 2 weeks after that, decision will be made next week.
