      Business Development Associate Interview

      14 May 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Alida (Toronto, ON) in May 2018

      Interview

The interview process was by far, one of the best recruitment processes I have been a part of. Throughout the process, I had the chance to do a phone interview with the HR Specialist, an in-person interview with the team lead and the VP of Sales Enablement, and another phone call with the VP of Sales. Overall, you can tell that the culture looks great, the people are incredible, and there are opportunities to grow your career.

      Business Development Associate Interview

      5 July 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Alida (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2018

      Interview

The interview process started off by an online application of submitting a resume. I was contacted by HR to do a phone screen who was friendly. She responded shortly after to set up an in-person interview with the Manager of Inside Sales. I found the in-person interview to be formatted quite strangely. Started off with the typical behaviourals, tell me about your story, walk me through your resume, describe a challenge you've faced, etc. However, the interview then turned into a mock sales pitch and a long list of hypotheticals about how I would approach selling Vision Critical to my favourite restaurant, how I would approach 10 CEO's in 5 days. It felt like a pop-quiz and although the interviewer said there was no right answer, his responses pushed for a specific answer. Questions were open-ended and too hypothetical in my opinion given that the interviewer gave no context of any situations he was asking about. I felt the questions were not relevant for this role which was described as entry level.

What is your first 90 day plan if you were hired tomorrow?
      Answer question

      Question 2

How would you approach contacting 10 CEO's in 5 days. (Question followed by mock phone call to CEO with the interviewer)
      Answer question

      Question 3

How would you approach selling our product in an emerging market?
