The post was for low-code/no-code platform software enngineer (unqork platform). At first they took an over-the-phone behavioral interview. There they notified me of the technical interview. The technical interview took place over Google Meet. There were two interviewers. This interview had 3 parts. At first, some basic MCQs were asked related to CRUD, databases, OOP etc. In 2nd part, they shared a google doc with me and gave me some code snippets of a language I was not familiar with (php). Then I was asked to solve a very basic problem (reversing a string) using php using those code snippets. After that they gave a code on a language I was familiar with (python) and asked me to debug it. Both the interviewers were very nice and cooperative. After the interview they debriefed me a bit about the unqork platform. I asked if there were anymore stages of the interview. They said no, this was the only stage. About a week later, I got an email where I was asked to join a meeting scheduled the next day to discuss the final steps. When I joined, the HR person who had talked to me in the first behavioral interivew was there. And also the CEO was there. The CEO was very friendly and told me about the team structure and culture and what kind of clients they deal with. It was North American financial institutions like Banks and Insurance companies. I got the impression that I had already been selected for joining them. Then he told the next meeting would be with HR where salary and contract will be discussed. Since the HR personnel was there, i thought he meeting would take place right then. But both the CEO and HR left. I gave them an email asking whether it would be that day, as in the previous email they said they'de discuss final steps of the hiring process. I didn't get a reply. For two weeks, I got no response from them. Then I called the HR. They apologized to me for the delay in scheduling the meeting and told that they were having a lot of project pressure lately and hence couldn't schedule the meeting. They also told me that I'de get an email within next two days. But another two weeks went away. I called HR again. Surprisingly, they couldn't recognize me this time, and were asking if I even attended the interview! I told them that I did and I was told the next meeting would be to discuss salary and contract. HR told me they'de get back to me in two hours. Well as usual, nothing happened in the next two hours two and I gave another call. This time, they asked for 10 minutes. At midnight, I was sent a rejection email, I was told I am not fit for their team. This was pretty shocking to me, since they gave me the impression in the meeting with the CEO that as if I had already been selected for the team. And in fact I was told, the next meeting would be discussing salary and contract. But the email they sent, was something I would get had I been rejected in the very interview.
