I would first try to contact the teacher in hopes that they might get back to me some time during the day. I would probably ask around in nearby classrooms or look for teachers in similar grades/subjects to see if they had any insight on what the class had been working on. If all else failed, I would monitor the students while I gave them free time to quietly work and catch up homework or class work from that class, or from any other class.
