I applied online. I interviewed at AlphaSense (New York, NY) in Aug 2025
Interview
Interview process began with a recruiter screening, followed by a couple 1:1 calls and finished with a case study.
Overall, the parts of the process spent speaking with actual members of the team were pleasant and educational.
The negative aspects mostly come from the recruiting team that's much less communicative and helpful. Multiple times they were unresponsive to email questions. Additionally, there was no response after the case study for a week until I followed up asking for an update.
This ends up coming across as somewhat disrespectful after requiring a significant amount of case study work. Case study interviews require a lot of free time and work, and candidates should not need to chase down updates afterwards.

Question 1
How do you think about particular topics you might not be familiar with?
3 rounds with an offer interview at the end. Speak to the recruiter, than a team member and the hiring manager, then a case study at the end. This was over a year ago, but still similar to today. The hiring process may be more difficult now. Entire process took about 1.5 months.

Question 1
What is the difference between a public and private company?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at AlphaSense (New York, NY) in July 2025
Interview
Pretty sub par interview process. The questions asked were incredibly repetitive for a 5 step interview process. They were also mostly irrelevant to the role and experience and more abstract questions. Gave off the feeling they watched an influencer video on instagram or LinkedIn and followed it to the tee. Was very scripted and refused to vary from script.

Question 1
They asked the question to describe a public company 3-5 times asking to further explain time and time again. ie: "and tell me more about that"
