The initial application consisted of a design test where I was given branding assets and tasked with designing an email in their tone. After passing that, I had a casual phone interview with the Marketing Director, then was asked to meet at their headquarters for a formal interview. To my surprise, the interview turned out to be a hands-on design test where I was sat down in front of an iMac, given direction for designing an email from the Marketing Director, then observed throughout my creative process. It was intensive, yet satisfying. I love when I'm asked to actually demonstrate my skills as opposed to trying to sell my abilities on paper or through a series of generic interview questions.
