Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Situational hypothetical issues encountered in the classroom with students and on campus with fellow educators. Behavior situations, collaborative issues one might come across with coworkers, and teaching strategies/philosophies (especially concerning reading and writing strategies). I asked more questions than they did, however that was due to being from Rhode Island Public Schools and moving to California Public Schools (asked about State Test Scores, District-wide interventions undertaken, Programs developed and initiated, RTI Processes ... but again, this was me asking the questions).
I applied through university. I interviewed at Alum Rock Union Elementary School District (San Jose, CA) in Apr 2014
Interview
The entire process was very generic, nothing out of the blue. I had a phone interview, then a one:one interview at the San Jose office, and then finally an interview with a few of the other staff from the school. The final stages of the interview were very easy and I felt that it was more to get to know the staff than for any other purpose.

Question 1
I was asked about my background in education, what persuaded me to pursue teaching, and whether I had always wanted to work with middle school children. Aside from these questions I was asked whether education was something I could see myself staying in for a long time--this question is very important and it will come up due to the teacher shortage that the US is facing, so have an answer prepared.
