I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at American Eagle Outfitters (Boston, MA) in Aug 2012
Interview
I walked in the store asking if they were hiring. I filled out a paper application, and then the manager had me take a personality quiz on one of the register computers. There is no right or wrong answer, they just use it to figure out what role in the store is best for you (are you more of a cashier or a stock person?). After it was filled out the manager talked to me a little bit more and asked some questions, like why I wanted to work for them and what I'm currently doing. It isn't a hard interview. I was called two days later with a job offer from the manager who interviewed me.
