I recently interviewed with the American Heart Association and left the experience feeling disappointed. During my interview with a senior HR leader, I felt the interaction lacked the level of professionalism and engagement I expected. At times, the interviewer appeared distracted and disengaged, which made it difficult to feel comfortable and fully present during the conversation.
As a candidate, I value respectful communication and a welcoming interview environment. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling discouraged and raised concerns about the organization’s interview process and candidate experience.
I hope the company considers reinforcing interview best practices to ensure all candidates are treated with professionalism, courtesy, and genuine attention throughout the process.
