Five interviews, two skills tests, and a personality assessment. The interview process was rigorous but more-or-less smooth. Passionate, smart people at the organization. I was offered the job, negotiated a few things (i.e. salary, start date), and accepted the revised offer. I signed and submitted the revised offer letter and sign-on bonus. HOWEVER, they then suddenly rescinded the offer! I was told that the person currently holding the role (and set to leave to start her own business) had a change of heart and asked to keep her job. They had my signed offer letter in their inbox! The recruiter said that everyone was very impressed with me and that they'd keep me in mind for another position at the organization, but nothing came to fruition. I understand that this was a unique circumstance but very unprofessional outcome and left a bad taste in my mouth. Is a shame because it seems like an otherwise great organization.
