I interviewed at American Society for Microbiology ASM
Interview
I received a call from a recruiter about scheduling a brief call for the position I applied to. I was asked mostly personal questions about myself, what I was looking for in my next role, what was important to me in my next role. I was then scheduled to interview with the hiring manager which happened and I was promised follow up which never happened

Interview
There were several virtual meetings with various people from the team that included who would be my supervisor, their supervisor, and others that I would be working with. The questions were relatively easy.

Interview
I interviewed in August/September 2024 for a senior admin position. Had three rounds of interviews. The 2nd and 3rd interviews were with the same exact person (?) and during my last interview with them, I was asked completely basic scheduling questions which seemed unnecessary and frankly a waste of time since we had already interviewed together for a full hour during the previous interview and I was already overqualified for this role. I was ultimately passed over despite strong interviews, but they reached out to me about a week later with a similar position reporting to the same person and asked if I was interested and shared that they hadn't even opened up the interview process and I was top of mind, so I wouldn't be competing with anyone else. The interview went well and after a second interview the following week, I was then met with radio silence for about another week. I was then informed that they begun to open up the hiring process and were going to interview additional candidates to "compare" to me, and that they were also thinking of making me do an online test to show my admin skills (??) which is part of their hiring process. I followed up about two weeks later and was told I should receive an update soon, and then, was ultimately ghosted.
Was disappointed to be strung along for so long and then to be treated like such an afterthought. I also regret wasting my time interviewing for the second role considering I was overqualified and would ultimately be ghosted anyway. What's most hilarious is that they had informed me that they had had "back luck" finding the right candidate for this particular admin role, and that they had to fire the previous girl and there was an issue with the girl before that. Doesn't surprise me...
