      Associate Account Representative Interview

      4 Nov 2011
      Anonymous employee
      Englewood, CO
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amica Insurance (Englewood, CO) in June 2011

      Interview

I received a call and scheduled a time to come in for an interview and typing test. I arrived early and was taken to a computer. I was not told there would be a math test, grammer test, spelling test and a typing test. I passed all except the math. Make sure you brush up on fractions and percentages before you go in. I hadn't used those skills in years. I was then taken to interview with two people. There was a manager and another representative from the department I was applying for. They took turns reading questions and noting my responses, what upsets me the most about other employees, what are my strengths, weaknesses etc.. They stayed stone faced and I left having no clue of how it went. My time for the first interview was over 2 hours. I had a call when I got home setting up my second interview. It was the same as the first, two managers this time taking turns reading questions. With the wait time it was almost two hours. I received a call asking me to retake the math test, I went back and passed this time. The third call was for the final interview, I was asked to sit with a representative for 3 hours to see if the job was still a fit for me, I was hooked in to the phone with them so I could listen to both sides of the conversation. I did not know insurance lingo so was a little lost most of the time. I could have accomplished plenty in one hour. The manager was not ready yet so I ended up on the phone with the rep for 4 hours. Then had my third interview. It was short, basically asking what I thought of the job, what I saw as the most important things the rep needed to do. Then to send a summery via email telling what I observed and liked or didn't like about the position. I thought I would be offered the position after about 12 hours of my time invested in the interview process. Instead I was told they did not have enough applicants yet to make a decision and they would let me know. She thought it would only be a couple weeks. I received an non-commital email after two weeks that they still did not know. I did not get offered the job for over a month.
