Associate Manager, Packaging Development Engineering Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Amika

      Interview

Awful, first I received no words from HR in coordinating the interview, just an interview invite, no advising me who I was interviewing with, which is a red flag from the beginning. The Senior Manager of Packaging that I interviewed with was disrespectful and rude, right from the start. He failed to conduct a solid well-rounded interview to get to know me and my great experience and expertise that I have. He does not know what he is doing at all, he dove right in to asking a series of poorly thought-out unintelligent technical questions, be prepared to go down a toxic rabbit hole that leads to nowhere. He said most people don't make it past the first question. He kept saying there is no right or wrong answer, but then would spin everything I would say to be inadequate for him even though my answers were all correct and good answers, and he kept grilling me on the same question going in circles in a very argumentative manner, attacking my experience, which you are NEVER supposed to do in an interview to anyone. I have a lot of years of experience, and I know exactly what I’m doing, the whole time he was trying to belittle me and flex his arrogant superiority. He definitely does not know how to conduct an interview which is a very simple process. From his questions and methodology, he doesn’t seem to know much. I can tell this person is very abusive, so I quickly had to cut him off after 10 mins in and I ended the interview very early in a professional manner, even though he had to slip in one last condensing remark. Disgusting to see men talk down to women in the work place, we are in the 21st century!! Attacking people like this in an interview is not okay!! This should not be happening; I will never work for any person or company that allows this to happen!! Amika needs to vet out their people better and learn better values and morals!!!!
