Very thorough and friendly. Felt like a two way interview to really determine if it was a good fit for both parties. It was a total of 3 conversations before getting the offer letter, so not too long of a process
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a time where you made a big mistake. How did you go about resolving that situation?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Anderson Technologies (MO)
Interview
Overall the interview process was fairly standard... a few automated assessments, a phone interview, etc. A bit too many steps made the process drag on, but otherwise fairly run of the mill. The weird part was after passing through multiple tests and interviews, I was invited in for an in-person interview at their offices, where I spent over 2 hours meeting team members, walking through the building, etc. This was the final interview in the process, so upon completing the 2+ hour in-person interview, I was left waiting to see if I got the job. And wait I did - two weeks to be exact, and which point I had to reach out to the folks at Anderson Tech to confirm I guess I didn't get the job (?). Rather than respond to my email like human beings, they sent me a generic copy/paste response about not being chosen - you know, the standard "thank you for your time but we have chosen to go in another direction" email you typically reserve for first round rejections. It was very awkward, especially for a company that put so much emphasis on treating employees like a "family", to be so impersonal with someone who spent over a month talking to them and spent 2+ hours with them in person. I definitely wasn't losing sleep about not getting the job as the pay was not particularly competitive, but nonetheless it was a weird experience and I would certainly recommend avoiding this company.
At Anderson Technologies, we understand that feedback is a gift. New processes have just been put in place to consistently communicate with candidates in a timely manner, especially when they have invested time to interview with us in person. Thank you for the feedback.
All the best,
Amy
