      Brewery Trainee Program Interview

      2 Dec 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Saint Louis, MO
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Anheuser-Busch InBev (Saint Louis, MO) in Nov 2016

      Interview

The interview process for AB InBev was longer than I expected. I had began the process through on-campus recruiting (where they actually focus more on finding people for their GMT program). The first stage is the application and immediately after you are required to take a culture-fit test and a timed logic/problem solving skills test. I found out about two weeks after that I was selected to move on and had a video interview about a week after that, about 1 month after initial application. I found out shortly after that I was selected for the next round, but the email got sent to my spam folder - so be on the lookout! I almost missed the opportunity. After the video interview there is a 3 hour assessment where they first have you construct a brewing schedule based on information they give you, then they stage a situation where you have to discuss a troublesome employee, and finally you hold a staged meeting with two employees who bump heads. It is my understanding that they are really looking for how you act and react in each of these situations. I got almost the entirety of my schedule incorrect, but was still selected to move on based on how I handled the situation. After this, myself and the final group of people were all flown to St. Louis for a panel interview. The majority of groups were 6 interviewers and 4 AB InBev employees. I heard mixed reactions from other people with different employees, but this interview style can be intense for some people as it can easily be interpreted as extremely competitive. In my opinion, they are really looking to see how you operate under pressure and in an unfamiliar environment, so stay calm and composed once you get to this point. They are really big on their culture, so be sure to be familiar with the "Dream People Culture" aspect of the company.

      Interview

The interview concerned behavioral questions and really focused on past experiences and demonstrated skills that a candidate has displayed. The following interviews maintained this aspect but grew more difficult as the process continued

The whole process took about 2-3 months total, many interviews in the process for a trainee program. Very cool assessors in the beginning, then higher up managers for the final interview.
