The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Aon (Pleasanton, CA) in Dec 2018
Interview
Was contacted via phone
1) Phone screening with recruiter
2) Phone interview
3) Phone interview with another manager
4) Excel project, logic test, and personality test
5) on-site interview with 5 people for half an hour
Had a good experience all the way up to the interview. As soon as I went in, I had my doubts. Was a bunch of tall white people (I guess what you’d expect at a consulting firm), and was asked job-specific questions when I was told no prior experience was expected/necessary/would be needed for the interview. Also, one interviewer introduced themselves under a different name so I would call them incorrectly, then joked about it and said just kidding later. I’m sorry, but an interview is not a place for jokes like that!!!
Lastly, I know or a fact that I did amazingly on the work test, and even specifically received good feedback, so I seriously wonder what the team was looking for (wonder if I was a more New England-looking kind of candidate if the outcome would’ve been different).
Unfortunately, in the end, after all of the steps and work I submitted, I was ghosted without feedback. Be prepared for this! It seems like a pretty sleazy operation, at least that was the vibe I got!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Really weird. Some interviewers asked me appropriate/applicable questions. Others asked me completely loaded/irrelevant questions. For example, what is your idea work schedule? Or questions related to the job when I was SPECIFICALLY told no prior experience was necessary. Clearly just an opportunity to make the interviewer feel smarter
