      Client Services Interview

      9 Feb 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Aon

      Interview

It was alright, but expect a panel of 'judges'. I had 3 for the first round, and they were awkward because I was talking to them more than they me, as we were early and the silence was deafening. The main interviewer seems to be uninterested in hiring and sounded largely exasperated when explaining about the role and Aon.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Aon in May 2008

      Interview

Initial communication was prompt & positive from the Human Resources recuriter who had reviewed my application & resume from the website. Had several phone calls with said HR person who advised me on no fewer than 4 jobs available that she thought I would qualify for. I specified two positions that caught my interest from her list, and was told she would set up interview times with the hiring managment - heard back from her 2 weeks later and then was told the interiews (at the same location) had to be on different days as she could not get all the interviewers to get on board for the same day. Declined to come in two separate days & asked to try to reschedule for 1 day - HR person then took 4 days to get back to me & advised that the mgmt for one of the positions was unavailable to interview me anytime soon due to their *busy* schedules, so we set up interview for the remaining position which the HR person then told me she did not really know if she thought I was qualified enough! So why do you keep calling me back lady?! Anyway, went to the interview - the actual mgmt who conducted the interview (2 Associate Directors, one male, one female) were pleasant, interview style was more of a "chat" about my past work history, etc. then grilling me with interview-y questions about "what I would do if I found myself in this specific situation" questions which was nice. When asked if I had any questions and I did about work environment, benefits, day-to-day work process, they interviewers were extremely vague & I felt could not ven answers some of my questions - they seemed unprepared for me to actually have questions for them which I thought was very odd as I'm interviewing you & your company too! Anyway, approx 1 week later I was called by the HR person & told I was not being extended an offer for the said position, but she was going to try to hook me back up with that other department who had been to busy to interview me before. Did not hear back from HR for another couple of weeks & then I received a call from said HR person offering me the job for the position she had just rejected me for! All in all this process took a couple of months from beginning to end. I did end up taking the position (due to higher salary, closer commute) and have now been with the company for 3 + years. The same HR person is still her & is known to be a "ditz" around the office.

      Question 1

I really can't answer as my interview was more of a "chat" with the interviewers. Hard to remember any specific questions as it was also 3 + years ago.
