I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Apera AI (Vancouver, BC) in July 2025
Interview
The process consisted of an HR phone screen, a 1 hour technical interview with one of their engineers, and a 3 hour back to back onsite interview with 3 different people. Having seen the previous reviews, I kind of treated this interview process as a practice and did not invest too much effort. I’m glad I did as the interview process confirmed my concerns with this company's professionalism. While some conversations with the engineers were pleasant, the overall process was pretty disorganized and unprofessional. There were multiple last-minute changes, including a late night email about rescheduling, and inconsistent communication that left me guessing about the next step. During the onsite interview they changed the interview panel on spot. I thought I did okay in the final interview, but still received a curt, unmeaningful boilerplate rejection email. Two months later I can still see the exact same position being advertised. Also in my own research I have discovered that the company is not as new as they claimed to be.

Question 1
Implement a react component with crud functions with given APIs
Not bad but was a bit too lengthy for the task to be completed in 45 mins. It was a live coding interview with data ETL tasks with a bit of python programming
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Apera AI (Vancouver, BC) in Mar 2024
Interview
Interview process consisted of a 30min HR screen, 30min technical screen, and a 3 hour on-site, broken down into back to back one hour sessions with 1-2 interviewers each. Despite passing through each step fairly quickly and in my view successfully, I received a curt rejection a few days after the final interview. To the best of my knowledge they did not even fill the role.
