They asked me in straight away for an in-person interview without a phone call. Should've been the first sign for me.
I go in and speak with Kate, the Sr. Accounting Manager before the CFO came in little later. Kate was professional though it was apparent she was relatively new to the company (hired a month or two prior). Richard (CFO) comes in and he looks half asleep. Getting a feel for what they needed and their current setup in accounting and finance, they have a lot to set up. Still I was keeping an open mind and Kate told me they would keep me apprised by the end of the week.
I follow-up yesterday because they did not keep me apprised. Kate informed me they were "going in another direction". What's funny is one of the final questions I asked her was "Considering all the responsibilities of the job (it's a lot), why is the title of the role "Junior" Financial Analyst role? She may not have expected that and told me she would take it under consideration. I now see the title has changed from "Junior Financial Analyst" to "Accounting and Finance Analyst".
My word of advice: Avoid this company. No number of "Thank you"s will compensate you for your time lost. The company itself has potential, but that department looks like a mess and the interviewing process was just unprofessional
